Brighton Beach

Most people don’t think of living by the beach when they consider moving to New York City, but Brighton Beach offers that and much more. The neighborhood is known for its high concentration of Russian and Ukrainian residents -- it’s sometimes referred to as Little Odessa -- which means it has a unique set of locally owned restaurants and specialty markets offering imported Eastern European goods. In warm weather, you can walk down Brighton Beach Boardwalk or hop over to Coney Island.
